A well-capitalized, publicly traded regional bank is expanding its Wholesale Banking presence in Charlotte and seeking a senior credit professional to take ownership of a complex CRE portfolio. This is a high-trust, low-bureaucracy seat — you will partner directly with experienced Relationship Managers on sophisticated deals from underwriting through ongoing portfolio management.
The bank is investing heavily in technology, including an AI-enabled origination platform and Microsoft Copilot, with executive-level commitment to adoption. Charlotte is an active growth market for this institution, with a strong deal pipeline and transactions trending larger in size and complexity.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN
- Lead independent underwriting on new and renewal credits — among the most complex in the division
- Proactively manage covenants, risk ratings, maturities, and renewals across the full portfolio
- Conduct in-depth analysis of financial statements, cash flows, and collateral for CRE and C&I credits
- Prepare financial projections in Moody's Risk Analyst and Excel; deliver credit recommendations to approvers
- Participate in client calls alongside Relationship Managers for financial due diligence and deal structuring
- Identify portfolio risk early and drive remediation independently

IDEAL BACKGROUND
- 7 years in commercial lending with true independent portfolio management experience
- Strong CRE underwriting — construction, draw administration, lease analysis, and valuation
- C&I experience valued alongside CRE; multi-line-of-business background preferred
- nCino platform experience is a meaningful differentiator
- Proficiency in Moody's Risk Analyst and advanced Excel modeling
- Comfortable with AI tools and a high-ownership operating environment
Salary : $150,000 - $165,000
