We are partnering with the Controller at a well-respected construction company in Cincinnati to hire a Billing Manager for their growing accounting and finance team. The Billing Manager will lead and develop the billing and A/R function, ensuring accurate invoicing, strong cash flow management, and process efficiency across project billing operations. This is a key leadership role with direct impact on financial performance and client satisfaction.
This is a fully onsite role in Cincinnati.
Responsibilities
• Lead, hire, train, and manage a team of billing professionals
• Oversee invoice generation, ensuring accuracy in pricing, quantities, and contract terms
• Manage accounts receivable and monitor aging to drive timely collections
• Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies and client disputes
• Ensure compliance with construction billing standards and internal controls
• Analyze billing data, generate reports, and provide insights to leadership
• Partner with operations, project teams, and leadership on billing and cash flow strategy
• Maintain and optimize billing systems and workflows
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency
• Support additional accounting and finance initiatives as needed
Qualifications
• 5 years of experience in billing and/or accounts receivable roles
• Experience within construction, project-based, or contract billing environments required
• Strong understanding of project billing practices and invoicing cycles
• Proven leadership experience managing or mentoring a team
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• High attention to detail with strong financial acumen
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to interface across teams and with clients
• Experience with billing systems and reporting tools
• Valid driver’s license required
