What we're looking for
We need a designer with 3-6 years of experience in mobile product design who can both design and build. You should be comfortable owning the full design-to-code lifecycle in a fast-moving, early-stage environment and have a track record of shipping polished mobile app experiences from scratch. Bonus points if you have experience with hardware companion apps or human-robot interaction design.
What you'll do:
- Own the end-to-end design and front-end development of Memo's companion app — the primary interface for how families set up, understand, and command their home robot
- Rapidly prototype interaction concepts at high fidelity, then evolve them directly into production-ready features
- Partner closely with product, software engineering, and hardware teams to translate complex system capabilities into simple, intuitive mobile experiences
- Define interaction patterns for a brand-new product category — shaping how people interact with personal robots in their homes
- Contribute ~20% of your time to front-end implementation using React Native or similar frameworks, bridging the gap between design and engineering
- Iterate on the companion app experience as client expands its beta user base and prepares for manufacturing and production
