Function
Lead and manage epitaxial growth activities for the production and development of laser and detector materials, including EMLs and DFBs. Ensure efficient and cost-effective operation of MOCVD reactors, and maintain a reliable supply of epitaxial materials for production. Collaborate closely with processing and device teams to achieve optimal material performance. Implement and uphold ISO 9000 quality standards while ensuring a safe working environment.
Responsibilities
Job Duties:
- Coordinate all epitaxial material growth and characterization activities supporting laser manufacturing and R&D
- Drive continuous improvement in laser component performance and material quality
- Ensure a safe, efficient, and cost-effective work environment
- Provide technical guidance and support to MOCVD engineers and technicians
- Collaborate with senior management to define production schedules and development priorities
- Develop, maintain, and deliver documentation and training in compliance with ISO 9000 standards
Accountabilities:
- Ensure a consistent and sufficient supply of high-quality epitaxial materials for laser products
- Improve device yield through optimization of material growth processes
- Maintain MOCVD equipment performance and minimize downtime
- Uphold safety standards and best practices in all operations
- Foster a high-performance work environment that emphasizes quality, efficiency, and employee development
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in MOCVD crystal growth of III-V semiconductor lasers and related devices
- Master's degree or higher in Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related field
- Strong expertise in epitaxial growth processes and materials characterization techniques
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
