Position Overview
Personal Courage is seeking an experienced and compassionate therapist to join our practice as an independent contractor. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of clinical experience and hold an active professional license as an LMSW, LPC, LCSW, or equivalent clinical credential valid in Michigan.
Responsibilities
- Provide individual, couples, family, or group therapy based on qualifications and areas of expertise
- Complete clinical assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential client documentation
- Monitor client progress and update treatment plans as appropriate
- Coordinate with other healthcare professionals when clinically necessary
- Follow professional, ethical, legal, and confidentiality requirements
- Maintain an active professional license and remain current with continuing education requirements
- Manage an agreed-upon caseload while providing reliable and consistent client care
Required Qualifications
- Active LMSW, LPC, LCSW, or equivalent clinical license
- Minimum of five years of professional therapy or clinical counseling experience
- Master’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related field
- Strong clinical assessment, treatment planning, and documentation skills
- Knowledge of HIPAA requirements and professional ethical standards
- Ability to work independently and manage client responsibilities
- Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to pass all required background and credentialing checks
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in an outpatient mental-health setting
- Experience serving diverse client populations
- Established clinical specialties or areas of expertise
- Experience with electronic health records and telehealth platforms
- Ability to maintain and develop a consistent caseload
- Certification or advanced training in recognized trauma-focused modalities (e.g., CPT, DBT, EMDR, or IFS) and neuro-rehabilitation specialties (e.g., CBIS).
- Demonstrated experience participating in interdisciplinary treatment teams
- A commitment to data-informed clinical practice, with experience utilizing standardized assessment tools to measure functional progress.
- Experience with commercial health insurance billing and verification processes.
- Proficiency in navigating Google Workspace (Docs, Drive, Gmail, etc.)
Contract Details
- Job Type: Independent contractor
- Tax Classification: 1099 contractor
- Schedule: Self-determined, 1st and 2nd shifts
- Location: Grand Rapids, MI
- Compensation: Competitive compensation based on experience and credentials, with details to be discussed during the interview process.
Independent contractors are responsible for managing their own taxes and other obligations associated with self-employment.
