to join a leading aerospace manufacturing team in New Britain, CT. This role involves setting up, programming, and operating advanced CNC machines to produce high-precision aerospace components.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up CNC machines, including tooling, fixturing, and offsets
- Program and optimize machining processes using CAD/CAM software
- Operate 5-axis CNC milling machines to produce complex parts
- Monitor machine operations and make necessary adjustments
- Perform in-process and final inspections to ensure quality standards
- Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and programming issues
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams
- Maintain accurate documentation of setups and processes
- Follow all safety procedures and company guidelines
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical training preferred)
- Proven experience as a CNC machinist (5-axis preferred)
- Strong knowledge of aerospace materials and machining processes
- Proficiency with CAD/CAM software
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Strong attention to detail and precision
- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Experience with multi-axis machining centers
- Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
- Familiarity with aerospace quality standards
