CNC Milling Setup – Operator / Machinist (5-Axis)

Job Overview

We are seeking experienced 5-Axis CNC Mill Machinists (1st Shift AND 2nd Shift Available)

to join a leading aerospace manufacturing team in New Britain, CT. This role involves setting up, programming, and operating advanced CNC machines to produce high-precision aerospace components.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up CNC machines, including tooling, fixturing, and offsets
• Program and optimize machining processes using CAD/CAM software
• Operate 5-axis CNC milling machines to produce complex parts
• Monitor machine operations and make necessary adjustments
• Perform in-process and final inspections to ensure quality standards
• Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and programming issues
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams
• Maintain accurate documentation of setups and processes
• Follow all safety procedures and company guidelines
  
  

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (technical training preferred)
• Proven experience as a CNC machinist (5-axis preferred)
• Strong knowledge of aerospace materials and machining processes
• Proficiency with CAD/CAM software
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Strong attention to detail and precision
• Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  
  

Preferred Skills

• Experience with multi-axis machining centers
• Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
• Familiarity with aerospace quality standards
