The York is hiring line cooks and prep cooks to join our kitchen team in Syracuse. We have both part-time and full-time opportunities available and are looking for dependable people who work with urgency, stay organized, and take pride in putting out consistent, quality food.

We’re hiring for a mix of line and prep shifts, and candidates do not need to fit exclusively into one role. Some team members may work both depending on experience, availability, and the needs of the kitchen.
Line cook shifts are primarily afternoon and evening shifts through dinner service.
Prep cook shifts are primarily mornings through early afternoon.
What we're looking for
- Previous restaurant kitchen experience preferred
- Dependable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to work efficiently and stay organized
- Strong attention to consistency, portioning, and preparation
- Clean and organized work habits
- Ability to follow recipes and kitchen standards
- Willingness to learn and work across multiple stations when needed
- Ability to communicate and work well as part of a team
- A sense of urgency without sacrificing quality
Experience is important, but it isn't the only thing we're looking for. We're also willing to train someone who is reliable, works hard, learns quickly, and has the right attitude for a busy kitchen.

SCHEDULE
Both part-time and full-time positions are available.
Prep: Morning through early afternoon
Line: Afternoon/evening through dinner service
Weekend availability is especially valuable. Scheduling will depend on availability, experience, and the needs of the restaurant.

COMPENSATION
$18–$25 per hour, based on experience, ability, and position.
There is room to grow within the range as cooks demonstrate consistency, reliability, and the ability to take on additional stations and responsibilities.
