Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Care Worker to join our team, providing essential support to individuals in various care settings. A valid first aid certification and a 1st Step TB test are required for a virtual interview process. Responsibilities
- Support clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance
- Observe and monitor patients’ health status, vital signs, and behavioral changes to ensure safety and well-being
- Assist with medication administration following care plans and HIPAA privacy regulations
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption when necessary
- Maintain cleanliness of living spaces by performing light cleaning duties and ensuring a hygienic environment
- Document care activities accurately in compliance with facility policies and state regulations
- Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident’s
to safely transfer individuals with mobility challenges
Experience
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care is highly preferred
- Familiarity with patient observation, dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, or hospice care enhances your ability to provide quality support
- Knowledge of working with people with developmental disabilities or autism demonstrates versatility in caregiving roles
- Experience with vital signs monitoring, medication administration, and developing or following care plans is advantageous
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with healthcare teams, residents, families, and social workers
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle physically demanding tasks associated with resident transfers or mobility assistance
