What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Buyer position at The Workshop LA?
Our client, a contemporary women's apparel brand with an emphasis on beautiful cashmere and knit product, is looking for an Associate Buyer to join their growing team in Los Angeles, onsite 5 days a week.
This is a hands-on role for someone with Omni experience - the brand has a strong retail, wholesale and ecommerce presence. The team is well-supported at the director level, so they're looking for someone sharp and execution-focused who can come in and make an immediate impact. If you thrive in an environment where your contributions are visible and valued, this one is worth a look.
What you will be doing
- Creating and managing purchase orders end to end, owning the process with accuracy and follow-through
- Supporting the buying function across all channels, with a true omni-channel lens rather than a siloed e-commerce focus
- Analyzing selling and inventory data to help inform buys and identify opportunities
- Partnering closely with planning, merchandising, and vendor partners to keep product flow on track
- Contributing to seasonal strategy while staying grounded in the day-to-day execution
What they are looking for
- 2-4 years of buying or buying-adjacent experience, ideally within contemporary or women's apparel
- Solid understanding of omni-channel retail, including stores, e-commerce, and wholesale dynamics
- Hands-on experience with PO creation and vendor management
- Someone who is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and genuinely enjoys the operational side of buying
- A team player who can work independently and doesn't need a lot of hand-holding to get things done
