Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Packer/Shipper to join our manufacturing team. This role involves preparing products for shipment, ensuring accurate packaging, and maintaining organized shipping processes. The ideal candidate will be efficient, attentive to detail, and capable of working in a manufacturing environment as well as supporting shop processes when needed. The ideal candidate will have a mechanical aptitude and be able to utilize hand, power, and woodworking tools to accommodate the shipment process. This position will also require the occasional local/regional customer deliveries with company trucks (3/4 to 1 Ton pickups) this will require a valid driver's license and good driving record. There will be a background check for potential candidates. This is a small manufacturing company, so when this position's primary duties are complete or slower than usual, the candidate will support the facility and overall operations where needed. These items will be discussed in more detail upon interviewing. The position requires a 90 day probationary period prior to receiving benefits. Work hours are M-Th, 6:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Pay is dependent upon experience.
Duties
- Carefully pack products according to specified guidelines to prevent damage during transit (ex. UPS, FedEx, Freight carriers)
- Load and unload shipments onto trucks, flatbed, box, etc. with forklifts
- Maintain inventory of packing materials and notify supervisors when supplies are low
- Ensure all shipments meet quality standards and company policies
- Record shipping data accurately in the system for tracking purposes
- Collaborate with staff regarding shipping schedules
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized shipping and receiving area
- Measure, cut, build boxing specific to support shipments
- Wrap, band, and seal packaging
- Weigh and measure shipments, and report to staff for configuring shipment information
- Inspect and count, incoming material per P.O. and packing slip information for particular jobs.
Experience
- Prior experience in packing, shipping, or warehouse operations is preferred
- Ability to operate basic warehouse equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks is a must
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly and stand for extended periods
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Basic computer skills for recording shipment data are desirable but not mandatory
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
