Primary Purpose of the Job:
The Whitby Bar is seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Cook to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for prepping their station and executing dishes during service periods. Success in this role requires a strong ability to take direction, work collaboratively within a team, and maintain a high level of professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare food for service, including chopping vegetables, butchering meat, and preparing sauces
- Maintain consistency and quality of food items in adherence to chef and kitchen team standards
- Ensure all dishes are plated to standard and delivered promptly
- Follow the executive or sous chef’s instructions accurately and efficiently
- Season, cook, and prepare dishes to the highest standard, ensuring optimal flavor and presentation
- Adhere to nutrition, sanitation, and safety regulations, maintaining strict hygiene standards at all times
- Foster a positive and professional working environment, respecting teammates and supporting one another in daily tasks
- Uphold the Whitby Bar’s high standards of food safety, cleanliness, and organization Requirements:
- Proven experience as a line cook, with a strong background in cooking, garde manger, or prep cook roles
- In-depth knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- A keen eye for detail and a commitment to producing high-quality dishes consistently
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and carry heavy items as needed
