We are currently seeking a Site Safety Manager with a background in self-performed heavy and highway construction or renewable energy construction to join our family of dedicated and hard-working professionals.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Preview projects and project sites before work begins to determine safety related risks.
- Assess ongoing work conditions at site location to ensure compliance.
- Work with project management teams and field staff to develop and implement solutions to safety related issues on project sites.
- Maintain safety related paperwork including permits.
- Maintain safety training certifications and matrix of site personnel.
- Train company employees in safe work practices.
- Ensure compliance with all safety practices and protocols of employees and subcontractors.
- CHST Certification is required (or willing to take the exam).
- CSP Certification is preferred.
- Good communications skills – the ability to communicate effectively both in the written and spoken word.
- Ability to listen – the ability to listen well and take in feedback from the employee perspective without passing judgment.
- Knowledge of OSHA standards and regulations pertaining to the specific trade or activity being managed.
- Good recordkeeping abilities – the Site Safety Manager must be able to maintain good records of all safety related activities.
- Ability to access all work locations. A significant amount of construction work takes place on rough terrain ground level which requires the Site Safety Manager to be able to assess the work to evaluate it.
- Knowledge of the specific skilled trade or type of work. This assists the Site Safety Manager in being able to design and implement solutions for the company.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)
- Salary range: $85,000-$110,000
- Position eligible for Company Performance Bonuses
