Our client is located in South Houston, near Edgebrook area and looking to add a Materials Management / Logistics Specialist to their team on a 6 month contract to hire basis. The main function of a Materials Management and Logistics Specialist is to coordinate the planning, procurement, storage, and distribution of materials to support operational efficiency. A typical Materials Management and Logistics Specialist is responsible for ensuring timely delivery, inventory accuracy, and compliance with supply chain procedures.
Target Pay: $30-33/hr.
Job Responsibilities:
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate the procurement of materials to meet production and project needs.
• Manage the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials in accordance with company policies.
• Collaborate with vendors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
• Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions, shipments, and material usage.
• Analyze logistics data to identify areas for cost savings and process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards in all logistics activities.
Skills:
• Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in inventory management systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Knowledge of supply chain, logistics, and procurement principles.
• Effective communication skills for coordinating with vendors and internal teams.
• Ability to analyze data and generate reports to support decision-making.
• Familiarity with shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations.
Education/Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field required.
• 2-4 years of experience
