- Interpreting MRI orders and conducting examinations per established protocols.
- Educating and screening patients, answering questions, and explaining procedures.
- Researching implants for safety and preparing contrast media when needed.
- Documenting procedures accurately in EMR and submitting exams with relevant prior studies.
- Monitoring equipment for safe operation and reporting discrepancies.
- Following departmental policies on safety, quality assurance, infection control, and environmental standards.
- Assisting with facility and equipment maintenance, providing basic patient care, and ensuring safety, including emergency response readiness.
- Maintaining current knowledge of medical technology and working at various locations as scheduled.
- Upholding confidentiality and HIPAA compliance, performing technical and non-technical duties as directed.
- High School diploma or equivalent; AA or AAS in Radiologic Technology Sciences.
- Graduate of accredited programs or recognized clinical training.
- State licenses (WA or Oregon) and ARRT registration in MRI required.
- Current BLS certification.
- Preferably two years of radiologic technologist experience prior to MRI training.
- Knowledge of MRI procedures, safety protocols, anatomy, and computer applications.
- Effective communication skills and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to safely enter MRI magnet room with implants.
- Full range of motion, manual dexterity, and ability to lift patients up to 300 lbs.
- Prolonged screen viewing, handling multiple demands, and travel between locations.
- Corrected vision and hearing, with exposure to clinical hazards.
