What are the responsibilities and job description for the District Liaison position at The Villages?
Within the spirit of “Making People’s Dreams Come True”, this position is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to The Daily Sun subscribers, contractors, co-workers, and other employees of the company. This role also supports service and revenue goals of the department by giving resolution to customer concerns, selling various subscription options as well as helping with retention efforts. These duties are accomplished while delivering Raving Fans customer service to both internal and external customers.
Full Time, Onsite Position
Location: Sumterville
This position is on the 3rd shift schedule, which requires overnight work, as well as weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities:
- Follow through and assist contractors with any service-related issues requiring attention.
- Provide delivery supplies for independent contractors.
- Work with Independent contractors to grow the circulation area and promote excellent customer service.
- Ensure all routes are picked up and delivered to the satisfaction of the department’s goals and deadlines.
- Follow up with service requests.
- Always presents a positive image of The Villages Daily Sun Newspaper and the Media Group.
- Recruit and replace carriers that are not fulfilling contractual obligations.
- Recruit independent contractors and terminate contracts for independent contractors that are not fulfilling contractual obligations.
- Participate in training and educational opportunities to improve individual skills, knowledge, and ability.
- Maintain accurate records, documentation and reports when contracting with independent contractors.
- Maintain independent contractor relationships with all contracted carriers.
- Communicate to customer service any daily district events that will impact call volume.
- All other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED), One (1) to three (3) months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- This position is subjected to The Villages Vehicle Safety Program and its policies as it requires the use of personal vehicles for company business.
- A Valid Driver’s License with a record acceptable to company standards is required for this position.
