Summary:
By adhering to The Village, Management Staff Philosophy, Vision and Mission Statements, the cook will be responsible for daily preparation of meals, AM or PM. Cook may also be assigned AM prep duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include the Following:
- Follows recipes and spread sheets to prepare regular and therapeutic and mechanically altered diets. Ensure food production meets required time schedules.
- Assists in cleaning functions in order to keep work area clean and maintained in a safe and sanitary manner.
- Ensures that food is stored, marked, dated and covered correctly following FIFO methods.
- Adheres to all facility rules and regulations to promote a safe environment for residents and staff. Insures that kitchen is maintained in a safe and sanitary manner.
- Performs all duties in keeping with the mission statement of The Village and Freedom Properties.
- Other duties, assignments and/or special projects as required may be assigned that relate to the service of our residents to daily dietary department operations
Education and/or Experience:
Minimum 2 Years Experience as a cook in a restaurant, skilled nursing facility, assisted nursing facility or hospital required. (Preferred Dietary Cook Experience)
Experience preferred in a skilled nursing, assisted living facility or hospital environment required.
Food handlers card must be obtained 1 week after employment
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or one or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to perform job.
Final candidate must pass a background clearance with the DOJ and FBI
