Duties

• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications, ensuring consistency and quality.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including grills, braising pans, poaching stations, and food production appliances.
• Assist with menu planning and ingredient selection to support diverse dietary needs and enhance meal presentation.
• Follow food safety management procedures, including sanitizing surfaces, proper food handling, and adhering to hygiene standards.
• Support high-volume food production by managing multiple orders simultaneously during peak service times.
• Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area through regular sanitizing procedures and proper waste disposal.
• Collaborate with dietary departments or catering teams to ensure meal accuracy and timely service delivery.

Requirements

• Previous experience in food service environments such as restaurants, catering, or healthcare facilities is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of food industry standards including food safety protocols, sanitizing procedures, and safe food handling practices.
• Proficiency in cooking techniques such as grilling, braising, poaching, and meal preparation with an emphasis on recipe adherence.
• Excellent knife skills and familiarity with operating various kitchen equipment safely.
• Experience with dietary department operations or menu planning is a plus.
• Ability to work efficiently in high-volume settings while maintaining attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude are essential for success in this role.

Pay: $16.50 per hour
