Job Description: Our client is seeking a full-time small animal emergency veterinarian to join a high-acuity emergency and referral hospital environment in Westbury, Long Island. This role would suit a confident ER clinician who enjoys urgent and critical case management, real-time collaboration with specialists, and working within a highly capable emergency support team.
The position offers exposure to a busy emergency caseload with advanced diagnostics, specialty support, and a teaching-focused clinical setting. The successful veterinarian will work alongside experienced technicians and referral clinicians while providing compassionate, high-standard care to patients and clients during urgent and complex cases.
In this position, your responsibilities will include:
- Managing emergency and critical small animal cases across a 24-hour hospital setting
- Collaborating with specialists across critical care, internal medicine, surgery, and oncology
- Using advanced diagnostics to support rapid assessment and treatment planning
- Contributing to case rounds, clinical discussions, and shared learning
- Building trust with clients through clear, empathetic communication during urgent situations
Qualifications Needed:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent qualification
- Licensure in good standing to practice in New York, or ability to obtain
- Experience or strong interest in emergency and critical care medicine
- Collaborative mindset with enthusiasm for teaching and team-based care
