POSITION SUMMARY
The Junior Media Analyst will contribute analytical support, reporting accuracy, and performance insights to fuel smarter media decisions at The Variable. This role requires strong quantitative instincts, comfort working in spreadsheets and dashboards, and the discipline to manage data with precision.
You will work closely with the analytics and media teams to measure campaign performance, uncover opportunities, and help translate complex data into actionable recommendations. This is an ideal role for someone with early exposure to digital media or analytics who wants to quickly grow their technical and strategic skillset.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Measurement & Reporting
- Support weekly, monthly, and post-campaign reporting by collecting data, ensuring accuracy, and building clear performance summaries.
- Maintain reporting templates, dashboards, and trackers to support internal and client-facing needs.
- Assist in QA of campaign data across platforms (search, social, programmatic, etc.) to ensure fidelity and consistency.
- Learn and apply AI-enabled and BI tools to streamline reporting, automate data pulls, and enhance analytical processes.
Performance Analysis
- Help analyze campaign results to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for optimization.
- Partner with the Associate Director of Analytics to translate raw performance data into insights that inform media strategy.
- Support development of test plans, measurement frameworks, and KPI structures for new campaigns.
- Contribute to building performance narratives that tie media actions to business outcomes.
Media Operations Support
- Assist with trafficking needs, data integrations, and platform setup requirements as needed.
- Monitor campaign pacing and delivery to support planners and flag performance concerns early.
- Coordinate with vendors and platform partners to resolve reporting or measurement discrepancies.
Cross-Team Collaboration
- Work closely with Media Planners, Supervisors, and Creatives to ensure analytics supports broader strategic decisions.
- Participate in brainstorms and discussions, sharing observations and data-backed ideas.
- Communicate clearly and proactively with internal teams, especially when issues or irregularities are identified.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Approximately 1 year of internship or entry-level experience in media analytics, media planning, digital marketing, or a related field.
- Familiarity with digital media channels and platforms (search, social, programmatic); exposure to analytics tools or tagging frameworks is a plus.
- Strong Excel/Sheets skills, including comfort with formulas, pivot tables, and data manipulation.
- Experience with or interest in BI/visualization tools (Looker Studio, Tableau, Power BI) preferred.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain strong attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially in summarizing data findings.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Statistics, Economics, or a related field preferred.
