Job Summary
We are looking for a meticulous and experienced Part-Time Bookkeeper to join our team to manage our day-to-day financial transactions. You will be responsible for keeping our financial records accurate, organized, and up to date. The ideal candidate is tech-savvy, proactive, and ensures compliance with financial regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily Transaction Processing: Accurately record all daily financial transactions, including invoicing, expenses, and payments in [QuickBooks Online/Xero].
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Manage the full AP/AR cycle, including creating invoices, tracking payments, and paying vendor invoices on time.
- Bank Reconciliations: Reconcile all bank and credit card statements monthly to ensure accuracy.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet) for management.
- Payroll Support: Assist with bi-weekly payroll processing, including tracking hours and ensuring accurate deductions.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with GAAP principles and assist with tax preparation (e.g., sales tax, 1099s).
- Record Maintenance: Maintain organized digital and physical files for all receipts, invoices, and bank statements.
Qualifications and Skills
- Experience: Proven experience (2 years) as a bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge: Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles (debits/credits, accrual vs. cash accounting).
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional accuracy and a strong eye for detail.
- Organization: Strong organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with clients/vendors.
- Education: Associate’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
