Job Summary
The Technology Support II position will perform work that involves providing customer support for university information technology systems and operating automated office equipment in network environment.
Major Responsibilities/Duties/Critical Tasks
- Performs troubleshooting, maintenance, testing and resolution of computer related problems.
- Provides customer service and answers user inquiries regarding computer software, hardware operation, and the use of software applications.
- Performs the setup of equipment for employee use and proper installation of cables, operating systems, or appropriate software.
- Document all work in ServiceNow, communicate with customers through support tickets in ServiceNow and create KB articles.
- Ensures that appropriate security controls over software are maintained.
- Assists in the update of computers and application programs.
- Analyze, test, troubleshoot and evaluate existing networks, LAN and WAN.
- Perform network maintenance to ensure networks operate correctly.
- Perform network upgrades such as replacing wireless access points.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Education/Experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Three (3) years’ work experience with computer related equipment, networking, troubleshooting, and/or customer support.
- May accept a combination of education and experience.

- Knowledge of principles of computer operations, information systems, computer software and hardware, and of information security policies.

Additional Information
The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
