The Senior Project Manager, Campus Construction is responsible for setting up project success by developing scopes of work, planning projects, and managing construction activities through project close-out. The position leads project definition coordination, project budget & schedule development, and customer service efforts.

Job Summary
The Senior Project Manager, Campus Construction is responsible for setting up project success by developing scopes of work, planning projects, and managing construction activities through project close-out. The position leads project definition coordination, project budget & schedule development, and customer service efforts.
Core Responsibilities
- Meets with facility users to develop scopes of work and project schedules and budgets.
- Communicates with internal stakeholders and Real Estate and Property Management leadership by performing project analysis and reporting methodologies.
- Prepares cost estimates and obtain approvals necessary to begin a project.
- Coordinates in the selection of professional design firms and coordinate comments to drawings and specifications during the design process.
- Assists in the preparation of bid documents for procurement of construction services as well as the selection of contractors.
- Coordinates design review with internal Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ), Project Management Team, and Pre-Construction Conferences.
- Ensures that design documents and construction activities comply with university standards, federal and state regulations, and applicable codes and standards.
- Reviews, processes, and approves construction related RFIs, ASIs, cost proposals, change orders, invoices, pay applications, and other related project documents.
- Conducts team meetings, owner/architect meetings, and budget reviews.
- Monitors and complies with project budgets and schedules.
- Monitors construction for quality, coordinate punch list and ROD corrections, and assist maintenance with warranty issues for one year.
- Coordinates inspections and the involvement of the University’s trade shops and departments associated with the project.
- Schedules, coordinates, and communicates utility outages. Coordinate planned construction activities with affected building occupants and UT San Antonio service departments. Assist contractors to gain access to occupied buildings.
- Collects and disseminates a complete set of project closeout documentation.
- Supports the Real Estate and Property Management Team in business activities.
- Updates monthly reports.
- Establishes and maintains positive and effective relationships and communication with client, construction manager, project team, consultants/architect/engineers, subcontractors, and adjacent community.
- Uses project management and scheduling software consistently and accurately.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
- Seven (7) years of related work experience.
- Additional education or certifications may substitute for experience on a one year for one year basis.
- This position requires the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure.

- Occasionally attend meetings and training off-site and out of town.
- Job duties may require frequent travel to multiple university-owned campuses and leased spaces.
- General supervision from Director of Institutional Construction.
- General supervision of Real Estate and Property Management and UT San Antonio personnel.
- Occasional supervision of Work Studies, and Student Interns.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
