What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electronics Technician II position at The University of Iowa?
Duties to Include:
Diagnoses problems, performs repair and other forms of maintenance of complex electronic equipment and instruments such as oscilloscopes, meters, generators, counters, analog computers and specialized instrumentation equipment.
Calibrates and adjusts electronic equipment to ensure optimum performance.
Directs, trains, and assists other employees in related electronics work as required
Recommends purchase of new equipment and instructs operators in the use and implementation of equipment

Minimum Requirements:
Graduation from a two-year resident electronic school and three years of experience in electronics construction and repair work, or
Any combination of training and experience from which comparable knowledge and ability can be acquired.
Special Qualifications:
Possession of a valid driver’s license and ability to meet and maintain UI Driving Policy.
Desired Qualifications:
NICET certification- State Alarm Installers License (Iowa)
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and organize tasks
