Position Description Summary/Purpose:
The University of Bridgeport, School of Nursing (UBSN), invites applications for full-time faculty to serve as the Lab/ Simulation Coordinator. As a dynamic and growing program, the University is seeking to add faculty committed to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service whose primary responsibility is to provide leadership for the skills and simulation learning activities. Appointment to academic rank and salary are dependent on demonstrated scholarly achievement, teaching, and clinical experience. This is a 12-month full time faculty position.
Essential Job Functions/Primary Responsibilities:
- Oversee the use an operation of the Nursing Lab and Simulation Center regarding resources, space, equipment, and future technology innovation

Collaborate with nursing and university faculty to develop and implement high-quality simulation using current evidence-based practice, including INACSL Standards of Best Practice and NLN SIRC

Plan, implement, and evaluate student simulation experiences and learning outcomes in a safe learning environment

Engage and maintain relationships with College of Health Science faculty as well as regional health partners for simulation training opportunities

Collaborate with the simulation technician specialist to maintain high, mid, and low fidelity simulation equipment and lab equipment and coordinate faculty training as needed

Engage in professional development that includes simulation and technology innovation curricula that benefits the School of Nursing and students

Maintain the nursing skills lab equipment and oversite of ordering and updating equipment and supplies

Minimum Required Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Nursing

State of CT RN license (or eligible)

Recent Clinical experience is required. Priority will be given to those applicants with expertise working in a nursing simulation laboratory

Ability to demonstrate effectiveness in working with diverse populations.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Doctorate in nursing or related field or substantial progress towards the doctorate with anticipated completion with 1-2 years.

Minimum of 2-3 years of recent teaching experience in a university nursing program.

Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) certification
