Job Summary of Senior Accountant
Our client, located in the Camden, New Jersey area, is seeking a Senior Accountant to support the day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting functions for their growing organization. This is a temporary-to-hire opportunity with a clear path to permanent employment.
This individual will play a key role in month-end close, account reconciliations, financial analysis, and process improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and experienced working in fast-paced environments while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines. Experience within manufacturing, distribution, or industrial environments is highly preferred.
Responsibilities of Senior Accountant
- Prepare and review monthly journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
- Analyze financial statements and investigate variances or discrepancies
- Maintain general ledger accuracy and support internal control processes
- Reconcile bank accounts, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and intercompany accounts
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities
- Support external audits by preparing schedules and requested documentation
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, procurement, and leadership teams
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiency within accounting procedures
- Ensure compliance with company policies, GAAP standards, and regulatory requirements
Skills of Senior Accountant
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
- Minimum of 4 years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems and advanced Excel skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Manufacturing or distribution industry experience preferred
Pay: $40.00 - $50.00 per hour
