The New Hampshire Veterans Home has a full-time, 2nd shift vacancy for a Nursing Coordinator.
Proposed Schedule Includes:
3:00pm - 11:30pm shifts (additional $4.00/hour)
Every other weekend (additional $2.00/hour)

Summary:
This position coordinates nursing activities to ensure the implementation of individualized resident care and treatment plans. It also ensures appropriate staffing of nurses within units and to provide coverage for the Nursing Department when necessary.
YOUR EXPERIENCE COUNTS: Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience: Equivalent combination of 8 years of education and experience after completion of high school. Education and experience must be in long term nursing care, ambulatory care, emergency care, psychiatric nursing, medical surgical nursing, or another related nursing specialty.
License/Certification:
- Registered Nurse license to practice in NH
- Current certification in CPR
- Must be certified by the American Nurses Association or another nationally recognized certifying entity in ambulatory care, emergency care, psychiatric nursing, medical surgical nursing, or gerontological nursing.

Responsibilities:
Monitors, directs and reviews work of nursing staff.
Develops and updates nursing schedules and coordinates schedules between units when necessary.
Provides information for budget planning in areas of medical supplies and equipment.
Administers medications and treatment to patients when necessary.
Reviews nursing staff reports and observations on patients’ conditions.
Provides Administrative coverage for the Nursing Department in the absence of the Assistant Director of Nursing.
Shares call with the Nurse Specialist for scheduling and patient care problems.
Evaluates and counsels nursing staff.
Plans and implements standards to provide adequate nursing care to all patients.
Ensures compliance with established department policies and procedures by maintaining competency in Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) techniques.
