The New Hampshire Veterans Home has a full-time, 1st shift vacancy for an Inventory Control Supervisor.

Summary:

Provides supervision of warehouse and inventory operations to include receipt, storage, processing and shipping of the inventory and equipment utilized at New Hampshire Veterans Home (NHVH).

YOUR EXPERIENCE COUNTS: Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience: Equivalent combination of 2 years of education and experience after completion of high school. Education and experience must be in stock control, warehousing, merchandise management, or related field.

License/Certification: Valid driver's license

Other Requirements: Requires medium work, including continuous strenuous activities such as frequent reaching, bending, or lifting up to 50 pounds often, as well as, performing work activities requiring fine manual dexterity or coordination to operate machines or equipment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in stock control work or in warehousing methods, procedures and equipment concerned with the receipt, storage and shipment of merchandise.

Responsibilities:

DETAILED TASKS (STANDARD): None

DETAILED TASKS (AGENCY/POSITION-SPECIFIC):

Provides partial supervision over the Stock Clerk III position by providing guidance concerning daily receipt, storage and delivery of goods and assuring adherence to policies and procedures.

Processes receiving report for accounting department and maintains material cost records.

Prepares inventory reports and suggests schedules for delivery and replenishment to assist the Warehouse Manager II in developing plans to improve the warehouse conditions, providing timely delivery of products, and implementing work methods to increase productivity. Recommends updates for warehouse and inventory policies and procedures.

Keeps inventory control records to maintain the proper level of supplies, including estimating projected inventory and stock requirements. Follows policies, procedures and standards regarding the procurement of goods and equipment. Provides technical guidance on these procedures to agency staff.

Maintains inventory control reports on warehouse stock to determine available stock, stock costs, storage and distribution. Estimates stock needs and recommends changes in warehouse inventory based on current needs.

Recommends changes and updates to current policies and procedures based on agency needs and requirements.

Monitor department usage of supplies including periodic inventory counts of all items in storage and verify records for accuracy.

Identifies appropriate vendor(s) with state contracts and/or where non-vendor items can be purchased to assist various departments in preparing purchase requests.

Order materials/stock from approved state contracts and vendors. Purchase and upload purchasing documentation to the credit card system. Apply Pcard policies and procedures for authorized purchases.

Assumes responsibilities for the warehouse in supervisor’s absence.
