The State of New Hampshire, Department of Transportation, Bureau of Construction, has a full-time vacancy for a Civil Engineer I – III position.
SUMMARY:
CIVIL ENGINEER I
To perform basic engineering duties and support permitting functions and operations activities of the highway maintenance district. Promote good public relations and support Department goals.
CIVIL ENGINEER II
To perform engineering duties for a variety of projects, including permitting functions and operations activities in a highway maintenance district. Promote good public relations and support Department goals.
CIVIL ENGINEER III
To perform a variety of engineering duties associated with the development and administration of programs in a highway maintenance district. Perform difficult permitting functions and operations activities of the highway maintenance district. Promote good public relations and support Department goals.
YOUR EXPERIENCE COUNTS: Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institute of higher education with a major study in engineering.
Experience: No experience required.
OR
Education: Associate's degree from an accredited institute of higher education with a major study in engineering or civil technology.
Experience: Two (2) years of post-graduate experience in engineering comparable to an Engineering Technician.
License/Certification: Valid driver's license and access to transportation for statewide travel
Other Requirements: Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) must meet the minimum standards as established by the Department of Transportation.

Experience: Eighteen (18) months of experience in engineering at a level equivalent to Civil Engineer I (or higher), plus two (2) additional years' experience in a position comparable to an Engineering Technician.

Reviews the procurement of consumable goods, highway maintenance materials and equipment.
Responds to emergency situations at any time to protect the integrity of the state transportation system and maintain public safety and convenience through the use of sound engineering practices and routine coordination efforts.
Reviews new sections, maintains records and provides field support for the Sponsor-A-Highway Program.
Collects data, prepares reports and reviews plans and proposals for various activities within the highway maintenance district.
Investigates and makes recommendations for responses to complaints and inquiries from the public and government officials.
All accountabilities must be performed in accordance with State and Department rules and policies, including risk management, safety and environmental standards, regulations and administrative orders.
CIVIL ENGINEER II
