ADVERTISING TITLE: PERSONNEL SERVICES SPECIALIST
This open competitive advertisement is for an OPS (Other Personnel Services) position located in Central Office in the Office of Human Resources, Attendance and Leave/FMLA Department.
The purpose of the Personnel Services Specialist is to support the Office of Human Resources by ensuring the accurate and timely processing of FMLA applications, maintaining compliance with relevant laws and policies, collaborating with staff to resolve inquiries, managing records and reports, and utilizing HR systems to facilitate efficient operations.
This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.
JOB DUTIES:
- Assist the Human Resources team with FMLA questions and processing.
- Make sure all work follows state and federal laws, rules, and department policies.
- Help the team process FMLA applications quickly and accurately.
- Work with staff and supervisors to answer questions and collect needed paperwork.
- Use HR systems and keep records, reports, and complete required training.
BENEFITS:
OPS employees who work an average of 30 hours or more per week are eligible to enroll in state group insurance plans. Standard PPO/HMO Options include:
- Employee Only: $25 biweekly
- Spouse Program: $15 biweekly
- Employee & Family: $90 biweekly.

- Retirement - As an OPS employee, the Florida FICA Alternative Plan with Corebridge Financial affords you an excellent opportunity to help accumulate money for a secure retirement. You contribute 7.5% of your compensation to this tax deferred plan. All OPS employees are required to participate in this plan and are automatically enrolled.
REQUIREMENTS:

- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- One (1) year of work experience in any professional, administrative, customer service, office support setting, or an equivalent combination of secondary education and work experience.
- Experience using computers or office software (for example: email, Microsoft Office, or any workforce/staffing management systems).
Support of knowledge, skills, and abilities should be demonstrated on the application, in the education, in the work experience, in the work sample, in the interview and/or during reference checks.

BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT
