Job Summary
Middle School Math Teacher Responsibilities This job is a part time, 0.5 FTE position. Plan and teach engaging math lessons (Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, and possibly Algebra II) using best practices in math instruction and an understanding of how middle school students learn. Use a variety of teaching strategies to support different learning styles, abilities, and levels of readiness. Create a positive, student-centered classroom that is well-organized, inclusive, and effectively managed. Foster a classroom community that values diverse perspectives, backgrounds, and voices, helping students develop empathy and a global outlook. Use a range of assessments (formative and summative) to monitor progress, guide instruction, and support student growth. Communicate regularly and effectively with students, families, and colleagues to support student success. Engage in ongoing professional learning, reflect on teaching practices, and embrace innovation. Participate actively in school events and contribute to the school’s continued growth and improvement. Supervise students and perform other duties as needed to support a safe and supportive school environment.
Requirements / Qualifications
Education and Experience Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required. Experience teaching middle school math in a student-centered environment required. Master’s degree and teaching credential preferred. Experience with inquiry and project-based learning, design thinking, and interdisciplinary instruction is a plus. Strong written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills required.
