Position Summary
The Host/Hostess is responsible for creating a welcoming first and last impression for every guest. This position greets and seats guests, manages the waitlist and reservations, and helps ensure smooth and efficient service throughout the restaurant.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Greet guests promptly with a friendly and welcoming attitude.
- Manage reservations, waitlists, and guest seating.
- Seat guests efficiently while maintaining proper table rotation.
- Provide accurate wait times and communicate updates to guests.
- Answer phones and assist with guest questions and reservations.
- Maintain a clean and organized host stand and entry area.
- Communicate effectively with servers, management, and other team members.
- Assist with bussing, resetting tables, and other team duties as needed.
- Respond professionally to guest questions or concerns and involve a manager when appropriate.
- Complete assigned opening, closing, and side work.
- Maintain reliable attendance and arrive on time and prepared for scheduled shifts.
Qualifications
- Previous restaurant or customer service experience preferred
- Friendly, professional, and guest-focused attitude.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
