Are you a payroll professional who thrives in the complexities of both domestic and international landscapes? Our client in Piscataway, NJ is seeking a high-caliber Global Payroll Specialist to lead the charge in ensuring precision across their US and global operations.
In this role, you aren’t just processing checks—you are a Subject Matter Expert (SME). You will manage biweekly US payroll and monthly international payrolls for India, Japan, Singapore, Austria, Germany, and China. Working with minimal supervision, you will be the go-to authority for tax compliance, retirement plans, and system enhancements.
Key Responsibilities
- Full-Cycle Payroll Management: Execute biweekly domestic and monthly international payrolls with extreme accuracy and confidentiality.
- Global Coordination: Act as the primary liaison for global payroll vendors, ensuring all country-specific regulations and tax withholdings are in strict compliance.
- Tax & Compliance Authority: Manage multi-state tax filings, wage garnishments, and adherence to state/federal/international regulations.
- Retirement Plan SME: Serve as the lead for 401k and Defined Contribution Retirement Plans (DCRP), including reconciling forfeiture accounts, processing loan extracts, and calculating excess contributions.
- Audit & Project Leadership: Serve as the 2nd lead for all internal/external payroll audits and the 3rd lead for major system upgrades (ADP WFN, Enterprise eTIME, and Global vendor conversions).
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate with the Benefits Department on employee Leaves of Absence (LOA), ensuring precise accrual calculations and compliance.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; Accounting coursework is a strong plus.
- Global Expertise:6–10 years of Global Payroll experience is required. You must have a proven track record managing payroll in international jurisdictions.
- Technical Skills: * Strong proficiency in ADP Workforce Now (WFN) and ADP Streamline is highly preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with electronic time & attendance systems (e.g., Enterprise eTIME).
- Compliance Knowledge: Deep understanding of US multi-state tax filing, global tax withholding, and domestic/international government regulations.
- Soft Skills: High attention to detail, ability to work independently, and the discretion to handle sensitive executive compensation and retirement data.
