Duties
- Conduct thorough intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to determine client needs and appropriate treatment plans
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized case management strategies that incorporate evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, and applied behavior analysis
- Provide direct support through individual and group counseling sessions focused on mental health counseling, grief counseling, addiction counseling, PTSD care, gender issues counseling, and crisis management
- Facilitate crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques to ensure client safety during acute episodes or behavioral crises
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including social workers, medical professionals, special education staff, and community resources to coordinate comprehensive care
- Maintain detailed medical documentation and records in compliance with HIPAA regulations while utilizing telehealth platforms when applicable
- Engage in clinical research activities or data collection efforts to enhance treatment outcomes and contribute to best practices in behavioral health
Requirements
- Valid licensure as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (e.g., Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor, or equivalent) with current certification to practice in the relevant jurisdiction
- Proven experience working with children, individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder (ASD), geriatrics, or other specialized populations such as those with chronic pain or PTSD
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding for billing purposes, and medical records management
- Demonstrated proficiency in psychotherapy modalities including motivational interviewing, behavioral therapy, psychopharmacology coordination, and crisis management techniques
- Experience delivering services via outpatient clinics or inpatient settings; familiarity with telehealth platforms is preferred
- Excellent communication skills coupled with the ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop tailored treatment plans
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism while adhering to confidentiality standards under HIPAA regulations
