About The Role

Park Maitland School is seeking a passionate and dynamic Middle School Social Studies Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in social studies, a commitment to educational excellence, and a dedication to fostering a positive learning environment for middle school students. The teacher will be responsible for creating engaging lesson plans, delivering high-quality instruction, and assessing student progress to ensure academic growth and development.

• Develop and implement engaging and standards-aligned lesson plans for middle school social studies.
• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes active student participation and critical thinking.
• Differentiate instruction using a variety of teaching strategies and resources to meet diverse learning needs.
• Assess student learning through both formative and summative assessments to inform instruction.
• Provide timely, constructive feedback to support each student’s academic and personal growth.
• Maintain regular communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom updates.
• Collaborate with colleagues to enrich the middle school program and support interdisciplinary learning.
• Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in education and social studies instruction.
• Model the school’s values and mission through professionalism, reflection, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
• Actively participate in middle school events and contribute as an invested member of the middle school team.
  
  

What We Are Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Studies, Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Valid teaching certification for middle school social studies.
• Previous teaching experience in a middle school setting preferred.
• Strong knowledge of social studies content, including history, geography, economics, and civics.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to create a positive and engaging learning environment.
• Proficiency in using technology to enhance instruction and learning.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and lifelong learning
