We are looking for a dependable and flexible Before and After School Counselor who enjoys working with children ages 4–14. This role supports our students outside of regular school hours, ensuring a safe, fun, and structured environment during after-school hours (approximately 2:30–5:30 PM, Monday through Friday).
You will play a vital role in helping students with homework, providing snacks, organizing engaging activities, and maintaining a warm, attentive, and consistent presence.
What You’ll Do
- Supervise students during before and/or after school hours, both indoors and outdoors
- Provide support with homework, and encourage positive learning habits
- Prepare and distribute snacks in a safe and sanitary manner
- Plan and lead engaging activities such as arts and crafts, games, and outdoor play
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all students
- Collaborate with school staff to maintain a positive and consistent student experience
- Uphold school values and expectations regarding behavior and safety
- Communicate effectively with families and colleagues regarding student needs or concerns
- High school diploma or GED required; additional coursework or certification in education or child development is a plus
- Previous experience working with children (in a school, camp, daycare, or similar setting) strongly preferred
- Reliable, flexible, and committed to student well-being
- Excellent communication, supervision, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage groups of children with patience and enthusiasm
- Must be able to pass all state and federal background checks
