Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Greets, registers, and assigns rooms to guests in an efficient and friendly manner.
- Obtain guest identification and credit approval as directed by hotel policy.
- Answer telephones promptly and courteously. Route calls appropriately; make and confirm reservations.
- Answers inquiries pertaining to hotel services, local information, and travel information.
- Ensure special guest requests are noted, communicated, and fulfilled.
- Manage and resolve all guest complaints and problems in a professional, courteous and timely manner.
- Post charges to individual room or master accounts.
- Computes bill, collects payment, and makes change for guests.
- Handle guest mail and messages per established procedures.
- Adhere to policies regarding handling of employee’s cash bank.
- Communicate with the next shift to pass on necessary information.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

- Education and/or Experience – High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Language Skills – Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Mathematical Skills – Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
- Reasoning Ability – Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Computer Skills – To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of reservation systems; spreadsheet software and word processing software.
