Essential Functions:
- Hiring, train, coach, supervise and terminate employees in the housekeeping department.
- Achieve labor goals as established by budget and forecast.
- Organizing and implementing incentive programs.
- Maintain the purchase order book, checkbook and completing the monthly purchase report.
- Prepare and conduct timely and accurate performance reviews with staff.
- Conduct monthly employee meetings.
- Conduct regular inspections of the hotel to ensure adherence to cleanliness and maintenance standards.
- Perform beginning and end of month inventory of all guest supplies and linen; order supplies as necessary.
- Assist all housekeeping departments in securing supplies and tools necessary for the completion of their jobs.
- Prepare daily and weekly inspections of guestrooms and daily walk-through of public area’s to ensure standards are being met.
- Establish schedule and plan daily work assignments.
- Prepare daily guestroom reports and trace reports.
- Respond to guest questions and resolve complaints promptly.
- Maintain and organize lost and found.
- Ensure effective communication between front desk and housekeeping.
- Demonstrate positive leadership characteristics.
- Ensure all guests are greeted
- Maintain a high standard of excellence throughout the hotel.
- Keep work area neat and organized
- Conduct self in a professional manner at all times
- Maintain a safe working environment and immediately report all unsafe conditions.
- Maintain a good working relationship with all departments.
- Comply with all policies and procedures set forth by the property Employee Handbook.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of two years housekeeping or laundry experience required, one year supervisory experience preferred.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Knowledge of chemicals and operation of industrial machines.
Ability to:
- Organize and prioritize to meet deadlines.
- Work with minimal supervision.
- Maintain a professional appearance at all times.
- Work as part of a team.
- Communicate effectively.
- Receive and follow both verbal and written instructions.
- Work well under pressure.
- Work any day of the week and any hour.
