What are the responsibilities and job description for the Server position at The Red Fox?
We are looking for experienced Servers. As a Server, you are expected to guide your guest through the dining experience. A friendly face, a good listener, and complete knowledge of all menus is key to enhancing the guest experience.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Collaborating with the kitchen and bar staff for prompt and correct delivery of orders.
- Memorizing the menu and recommending appetizers, meals, and beverages.
- Providing information to help food and beverage selections.
- Delivering a memorable dining experience by resolving all customer issues promptly.
- Correctly and efficiently complete opening, closing, and service side work.
- Maintain table setting by removing courses as completed, replenishing utensils, and refilling beverages as needed.
- Offering refills of bar beverages in a timely manner.
- Setting tables and rearranging the dining area to accommodate larger groups and prepare the restaurant for special events.
- Help maintain dining ambiance with an enthusiastic and positive attitude.
- Work with a team mindset to help maintain a positive work environment.
Qualifications
- Previous restaurant experience
- Proficiency with POS systems, especially Aloha POS and Micros POS
- Strong customer service skills
- Knowledge of food handling and safety protocols
- Ability to upsell and increase sales
- Basic math skills for cash register transactions
- Familiarity with food preparation and kitchen operations
- Experience with guest services and hospitality
- Strong time management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Certification in food safety is a plus
