Construction Materials Testing Inspector
My client is a far eastside environmental firm that is seeking a Construction Materials Testing Inspector to join their growing team.
Construction Materials Testing Inspector Responsibilities:
- The Construction Materials Testing Inspector will be responsible for inspecting and evaluating construction materials used by contractors.
- Review project drawings and specifications
- Responsible for the field compaction testing, sampling and observation of soils, aggregate and asphalt utilizing density gauges
- Performs concrete, grout, and masonry quality control tests through sampling and visual observation, performing slump, air, unit weight and temperature tests as well as cast specimens for compressive and flexural strength specimens.
- Sampling of asphalt cores to verify thickness, density, and % air voids.
- Daily communication with site contractors, agency representatives, other technicians and project managers.
- Complete accurate and detailed field testing reports and/or diagrams.
- Ability to assist other technicians on larger projects
- Ability to perform simple calculations
- Maintain cleanliness of company vehicle and assigned testing equipment
- Follow company safety guidelines and project specific safety requirements
Construction Materials Testing Inspector Qualifications:
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
- Must have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Must have experience in managing multiple projects at once.
- Must have basic computer skills to document daily activities.
- Must be able to maintain a professional appearance.
- Experience preferred, but not necessary, training will be provided.
- Must have experience in using Microsoft Office products such as Excel and Word.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds unassisted.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $57,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
