WORKING CONSTRUCTION CIVIL / EXCAVATION SUPERINTENDENT
Our client is a Lafayette excavation company seeking to hire a superintendent with civil and excavation experience. This person will be be responsible for coordinating all of the site construction activities.
WORKING CONSTRUCTION CIVIL / EXCAVATION SUPERINTENDENT REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 3 years commercial field superintendent experience to include site development (internships count)
- Proficient in reading and understanding construction documents
- Ability to lift or move 25 pounds frequently, and on occasion up to 100 pounds.
- Experience in installing water, sewer and storm drain main lines would be a plus.
- Able to read plans and grade sheets and must be able to set manholes and storm drain structures.
- Able to learn and use Leica GPS efficiently.
- Frequently required to stand, talk and hear instructions, walk sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
- Must dress appropriately for outdoor work, including boots, long pants, and any other provisions required for spending any duration of time outside in the heat, cold, dry, and or wet conditions.
WORKING CONSTRUCTION CIVIL / EXCAVATION SUPERINTENDENT RESPONSIBILITIES
- Use company software to manage field time and job.
- Complete required paperwork, reporting, and other documentation.
- Operate heavy equipment if needed in compliance with the company’s operating safety policies and procedures.
- Keep job on time and budget.
- Lead and supervise crew to safely and efficiently execute the work assigned.
- Work with other foremen to coordinate staff for best work environment.
- Demonstrate solid team leadership and assist with their training and development.
- Be accessible to employees to address questions or concerns.
- Perform other related duties as requested to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.
- Operate heavy equipment if needed in compliance with the company’s operating safety policies and procedures.
- Provide recommendations for maintaining and improving environmental performance.
- Ensure company equipment, material, and the work site are maintained, kept clean, and stored in a safe manner.
- Collect and dispose of scrap, excess materials, and refuse.
- Works with and assists the crew in digging ditches and trenches, hoisting material, tools, equipment, and any related work.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
