Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Guest Experience & Instruction
- Provide unparalleled, professional instruction in specialized disciplines to ensure guests of all skill levels have a memorable and educational experience.
- Deliver a warm, professional welcome to all guests visiting the Rod & Gun Club.
- Actively monitor guest sign-ups and schedules via the Concierge Assistant system.
- Personalize every excursion by following specific guest notes, celebrating special occasions, and accommodating unique requests.
- Facilitate the "Kids Program," ensuring a fun, engaging, and safe environment for younger guests.
- Provide a "fond farewell" to all guests, ensuring their needs were met and equipment is properly returned.
- Prioritize the safety of guests and coworkers above all else; maintain a proactive "safety-first" mindset.
- Deliver comprehensive safety briefings to every guest before departing for any activity.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of and strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for every activity offered.
- Ensure all first aid materials and water supplies are refreshed and ready for immediate use.
- Secure all hazardous materials and equipment according to company safety protocols during closing duties.
- Assist guests with technical fittings, including boots, bikes, waders, and other specialized gear.
- Maintain organizational excellence within the Rod & Gun Club and all activity staging areas.
- Execute daily and weekly schedules with precision and punctuality.
- Complete all closing duties, including cleaning equipment and organizing facilities, to ensure the department is "show-ready" for the following day.
- Contribute to long-term departmental goals and special projects, such as trail building and maintenance, when guided activities are not scheduled.
- Collaborate with coworkers across all departments to assist with day-to-day tasks and overall Ranch goals.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree preferred, but not required.
- Experience: Previous experience in a similar capacity (luxury guiding, outdoor education, or high-end hospitality) is highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proven competency in several of the following: fly fishing, shooting sports, mountain biking, equestrianism, or winter sports.
- Licensure: Must possess a valid and current Driver’s License.
- Certifications: Current CPR/First Aid Certification is required.
- Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to engage diverse groups of people.
- Ability to stand, sit, walk, and move continuously for the duration of a shift in various weather conditions and terrain.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment as required by specific activities (e.g., bikes, waders, archery equipment).
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, nights, and holidays.
