Join our new coffee shop team (The Roasting Route) as a Coffee Shop Team Member and become the heart of a lively, welcoming café environment! In this role, you'll deliver exceptional customer service while preparing and serving high-quality coffee and food items. Your energy and enthusiasm will help create memorable experiences for every guest, ensuring they leave satisfied and eager to return. Whether you're passionate about coffee, enjoy engaging with people, or thrive in a fast-paced setting, this position offers a rewarding opportunity to grow your skills in the coffee industry. Applicants must live within 15 miles of the store, have transportation and cannot be a student unless you are available Monday through Saturday all hours. Applications are also available in the store. This position requires that you are on your feet at all times and rotation between each area of taking orders, hot drinks, and cold drinks. Service hours are from 7AM to 6PM Monday through Friday and 7AM to 3PM on Saturdays. We are closed on Sunday.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly, taking their orders efficiently and accurately using POS system by TOAST
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, food items, and snacks while adhering to food safety and handling standards.
- Operate cash registers, handle cash transactions, and perform cashiering duties with accuracy using POS systems.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including food preparation stations, seating areas, and equipment.
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure prompt service and customer satisfaction.
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as beagles or pastries, following proper food safety protocols.
- Engage with customers to provide excellent service, answer questions about menu items, and promote sales opportunities.
Experience
- Previous barista experience not required.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures is helpful but not required.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and positively with diverse guests.
Pay: $10.00 - $15.00 per hour
