Overview
The Plastek Group is seeking an experienced Facilities Technician for our office located in Erie, PA. The candidate will be responsible for completing maintenance work orders as assigned. They will perform any maintenance, not limited to technical repairs; design, installation, and testing of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic & cooling systems in an industrial plant. They shall be able to perform the assigned responsibilities, duties, and tasks according to established practices, procedures, techniques, and standards in a neat, safe, and timely manner with minimal to no supervision. The main focus for this role will be electrical skills/experience .
Responsibilities
- Inspect buildings, electrical systems, grounds, and equipment to ensure safe, well-maintained conditions, identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair.
- Design, install, & identify need for service & repair of all facility systems (interior & exterior):
o Electrical: 120-480v, 1 & 3ph AC, 12-24vdc DC
o Mechanical /structural
o Plumbing
o HVAC.
- Layout, rigging, leveling of machinery into location,
- Requisition and install replacement materials/parts.
- Prepares reports documenting work performed.
- Cleans, organizes, inventories, stocks, and otherwise maintains shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies.
- Assist with moving, loading, unloading, and storing supplies, furniture, and equipment.
- Wear proper protective equipment while performing job duties (i.e., goggles, helmet, back brace, knee pads).
- Respond to 24-hour emergency calls.
- Adjustment of hours and/or weekend work may be required and/or occasional overtime.
- Performs the duties of and assist/coach Facility Mechanics.
- Have knowledge of and adherence to all relevant SOPs.
- Other job duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- 5-8 years’ experience to include 3 years training and 3 years electricity experience.
- Formal training and working experience with HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, welding/fabricating.
- Proficient blueprint reading experience.
