Overview
The Plastek Group is searching for a Manufacturing Engineer for its Consumer Products Division located in Erie, PA! This is an excellent and exciting opportunity to work for a secure, progressive, and technologically advanced company.
Pay: Compensation will be determined based on experience and qualifications
Job Duties
- Maintain and improve high performance, complex electro-mechanical assembly and robotic systems
- Test and qualify prototype, production assembly, and robotic equipment
- Suggest methods, materials and tooling modifications to improve processes
- Create detailed, technical reports with data-driven results
- Create work instructions and training materials to support processes
- Recommend, develop and plan software initiatives
- Integrate electrical and mechanical components and systems into an overall design
Job Knowledge
- Working experience with finite element analysis (FEA)
- Hands-on experience with computer-aided engineering (CAM) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAE)
- Familiarity with 2D or 3D engineering design and manufacturing tools (e.g., AutoCAD, ProE or other)
- Adequate knowledge of engineering analysis tools (ANSYS, ProMechanica or similar)
- Mathematical computing and analysis tools knowledge (Matlab, Excel, LabView etc)
- Solid understanding of core concepts including mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, materials science etc.
- Creativity and analytical skills
- Ability to communicate technical knowledge in a clear and understandable manner
- Technical writing skills
- Possess computer skills for programming & data entry
- Able to read electrical/hydraulic ladder diagrams
- Software changes and programming
- PLC programmable controllers - specifically Allen Bradley controllers
- Strong Mechanical background and capability
- Diagnostic problem solving for malfunctioning equipment, perform corrective adjustments
- Basic wiring, plumbing and electricity
- Pneumatics and hydraulics
- Machine shop methods and equipment (lathes, mills, saws, grinders)
