⚡ We’re Hiring: Staff/Senior Substation Engineer
📍 Location: Cary, NC

We are seeking a talented Staff/Senior Substation Engineer to join a growing engineering team supporting high-impact utility and energy infrastructure projects. This role is ideal for professionals with strong experience in substation physical design or protection & control (P&C) who are looking to take on technical leadership responsibilities in a collaborative environment.
🔹 Key Responsibilities:
• Support substation projects from conceptual design through construction and project completion
• Develop substation design packages including physical layouts, grounding, lightning analysis, lighting, security, relaying, and controls
• Perform engineering calculations including AC/DC systems, battery sizing, cable sizing, voltage drop, conduit fill, and insulation studies
• Prepare equipment specifications, cost estimates, bill of materials, and design deliverables
• Conduct design quality reviews and support QA/QC processes
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure successful project execution
• Support field inspections, proposal development, and client presentations
🔹 Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline from an ABET-accredited program
• Minimum 6-8 years of substation engineering experience (consulting experience preferred)
• Experience with Physical Design and/or Protection & Control (P&C)
• Strong understanding of IEEE, NESC, utility standards, and engineering practices
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• EIT certification preferred | PE license preferred
