📍 Golden, CO | 🕒 12-Month Contract (Potential for Extension/Conversion)
About the Opportunity
Join a dynamic team supporting critical infrastructure projects with Xcel Energy! We’re seeking a Senior Construction Permitting Specialist to lead permitting efforts for complex construction initiatives. In this role, you’ll play a key part in navigating regulatory requirements and ensuring projects move forward smoothly—from initial permit applications through final approvals.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage permitting processes across federal, state, and local jurisdictions
- Prepare, submit, and track permit applications and approvals
- Conduct desktop reviews of project plans and develop:
- Permit matrices (PPM)
- Land rights matrices (PLRM)
- Coordinate closely with civil, foundation, transmission line, and restoration teams
- Utilize tools like ArcGIS Online (AGO) for spatial data management
- Support field reviews, site visits, and constructability assessments
- Facilitate stakeholder meetings and maintain clear documentation
Required Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of permitting processes including:
- Utility installation
- Right-of-way (ROW)
- Land use
- ACOE permits
- Experience developing permit and land rights matrices
- Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and cross-functional coordination
- Hands-on experience with ArcGIS Online (AGO) or similar tools
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in construction management, civil engineering, environmental science, or related field
- Experience with project change management and permit closeout processes
- Familiarity with regulatory agencies related to energy infrastructure
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (must be completed)
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in construction permitting or project coordination
Additional Requirements
- Ability to work on-site in Golden, CO with occasional field visits
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
