We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our growing transportation and electrical design organization. This role plays a critical part in supporting the monthly close process, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and managing Accounts Payable (AP) operations.
The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting skills, experience working in project-based environments, and familiarity with VistaPoint ERP (or similar project-based accounting systems).
Key Responsibilities
Month-End Close & Financial Reporting
- Lead and support the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
- Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, and allocations
- Reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Analyze financial results and investigate variances vs. budget/forecast
- Assist in preparing internal financial statements and management reports
Accounts Payable (AP) Oversight
- Oversee full-cycle accounts payable processing, including invoice entry, approvals, and payments
- Ensure proper coding of invoices to projects, cost centers, and GL accounts
- Manage vendor relationships and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
- Maintain strong internal controls around AP processes
Systems & Process Improvement
- Utilize VistaPoint ERP (or similar system) for financial management and reporting
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows, automation, and controls
- Assist with system upgrades, implementations, or process enhancements
Audit & Compliance
- Support external audits by preparing schedules and documentation
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies
- Maintain organized and audit-ready financial records
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in engineering, construction, or project-based industries
- Strong understanding of month-end close processes and general accounting principles
- Hands-on experience with Accounts Payable processing
- Advanced proficiency in Excel
Preferred
- Experience with VistaPoint ERP (highly preferred) or similar systems (e.g., Deltek, Viewpoint, Sage)
- Experience in transportation, infrastructure, or electrical design/engineering environments
- CPA or CPA-track is a plus
- Familiarity with job costing and project accounting a plus
Salary : $45 - $55
