We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join a growing healthcare organization. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of the general ledger, supporting the monthly close cycle, and contributing to financial reporting and compliance activities specific to the healthcare industry.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP and healthcare industry standards
- Perform general ledger reconciliations, month-end close activities, and journal entries
- Support the annual audit process by preparing schedules, responding to auditor inquiries, and ensuring documentation is audit-ready
- Assist with the preparation of Medicare/Medicaid cost reports and compliance filings
- Monitor revenue cycle transactions, including patient revenue, contractual adjustments, and bad debt reserves
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for operational improvement
- Maintain fixed asset schedules, depreciation entries, and capital expenditure tracking
- Collaborate cross-functionally with billing, operations, and clinical teams to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes, including departmental budget-to-actual analysis
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and relevant healthcare regulations (HIPAA, CMS, etc.)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA preferred or in progress
- 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience; healthcare industry experience strongly preferred
- Solid understanding of GAAP, revenue recognition principles, and healthcare-specific accounting (e.g., net patient service revenue, charity care)
- Experience with healthcare ERP or accounting systems (e.g., Workday, Epic, Meditech, Sage Intacct, or similar)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and financial modeling
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
Required Skills
- Experience with PE-backed or multi-entity healthcare organizations
- Exposure to cost report preparation or reimbursement analysis
- Familiarity with ASC 606 or ASC 842 in a healthcare context

Salary : $90,000 - $110,000
