SAP FICO Consultant with Vertex

Job Title: SAP FI/CO – Vertex Consultant (Techno-Functional)

Location: Austin area, TX (Onsite 4 days per week, Mon–Thurs)

Hourly Pay Rate: $85/hr - $90/Hr

Contract Duration: 9 months (full-time, 40 hours per week; possible extension)

Schedule: Onsite at client location, standard business hours

We are seeking an experienced SAP FI/CO Consultant with deep Vertex expertise to support a high-priority project during peak retail season. The role focuses on administering and enhancing Vertex tax integration within SAP S/4HANA, while also contributing across FI/CO modules. This is a hands-on, onsite position requiring both technical and functional skills to ensure compliance, accuracy, and scalability of global indirect tax and finance operations.

• 10 years of SAP experience, with 6 years specific to S/4HANA Vertex integration
• Strong functional FI/CO expertise with ability to configure, test, and create functional specs
• Hands-on administration experience with Vertex O Series, Vertex Accelerator, and SAP SIC
• Deep knowledge of SD and MM tax configurations, pricing, and account determination settings
• Experience in indirect tax compliance (Sales/Use Tax, VAT, GST)
• Proficiency in ABAP debugging, CPI/PO integration, and interface troubleshooting
• Strong communication and consultative skills – proactive, self-driven, able to escalate appropriately
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

• Public Cloud experience with SAP (S/4HANA 1909 or later, Cloud exposure a plus)
• End-to-end implementation experience of Vertex Accelerator SIC on S/4HANA
• Global rollout experience (U.S., EU, APAC)
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, or Information Systems
• SAP FI/CO or SD certification
• Vertex O Series certification

• Act as the Vertex SME for FI/CO, administering and configuring Vertex O Series and Accelerator
• Integrate Vertex with SAP S/4HANA across Order-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, and Finance
• Map tax codes, jurisdictions, and exemptions between SAP and Vertex for retail, POS, and eCommerce
• Troubleshoot integration issues with RFCs, BAPIs, APIs, and middleware (CPI/PO)
• Support upgrades, content updates, and releases for Vertex Accelerator and SIC
• Create functional and technical documentation, test scripts, and integration cases
• Collaborate with Tax, Finance, and IT to ensure compliance and seamless operations
• Train end users and provide production support during critical tax and reporting periods
• Contribute to broader FI/CO needs including FSCM and Asset Management as required
