Required:
- Professional land surveyor license Required (preferable in NC & TN)
- Degree in surveying, civil engineering, or related field preferred
- Minimum of eight years of experience in surveying and engineering projects
- Proficient in using surveying instruments, software, and methods.
- Knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and regulations
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must have a valid driver’s license, a good driving record and the ability to obtain security clearance.
- Must have the physical ability to work outdoors in all weather for extended periods of time and be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to travel and work on projects throughout North Carolina and the surrounding states
- Strong technical, documentation, and organizational skills
- Ability to identify potential conflicts and issues.
- Understanding of how underground utility systems work and ability to obtain below grade measurements without confined space entry.
- Thorough knowledge and experience operating surveying equipment
- Experience in the use of surveying software: AutoCAD Civil3D, TBC, Bentley MicroStation
- Knowledge of survey data collection principles, practices, methods and procedures
- Proficient in reading engineering, architectural, and structural drawings
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and assist with the supervision of company survey department activities.
- Communicate with clients, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to establish project requirements, specifications, and expectations.
- Assist with survey proposals, contracts, budgets, and schedules.
- Perform research and calculations to prepare jobs for field surveying activities.
- Perform survey adjustments and analysis of field data gathered by survey crews.
- Perform complex surveying tasks such as boundary determination and surface modeling.
- Ensure the quality and accuracy of survey data, calculations, and reports.
- Provide technical guidance and training to junior staff.
- Review and certify survey drawings and reports.
- Manage and maintain survey equipment, software, and records.
- Be a morale booster.
- Serves on Committees and Teams as requested by management.
